ESK MOUNTAIN VOLUNTEER DAY

To mark National Biodiversity Week – we’re running our first volunteer day of 2026 on Sunday 24th May! Some weeks ago we launched a ‘Sponsor a Stake’ Campaign giving people a chance to sponsor a stake & help us secure the boundary of this 270 acre nature restoration project. We now need help getting our next batch of sponsored posts up onto the mountain as our fence line is only accessible by foot. There’s also the task of hammering the posts into the ground & afixing the sponsor name tags.
So if you’d like a guided hike around the boundary line of Esk Mountain installing a fencing stake or two followed by a 2-course fireside dinner to end the day to say thank you!

> Learn about the nature restoration work on site & the wider ecology of the Irish landscape
> Enjoy a hike with spectacular 360 deg views of the Caha Mountains as well as Bantry Bay & the Kerry Mountains
> Meet our small herd of Dexter cattle & learn about the virtual grazing system we use.
> Dinner will include a hearty savoury dish, dessert & drinks
