This year we have created a Scavenger Hunt for Schools! Classes can take part by completing the hunt. Take a photo and share it with us online for the chance to win a prize for your classroom.
The Scavenger Hunt sheets have been designed to fit into a 40 minute time slot, but can be shortened or lengthened to suit the class. There’s plenty to do by just using the Scavenger Hunt Sheet, but if you would like to explore some of the questions in detail we have created this teacher’s sheet to give you ideas on how to complete the hunt, and possible further facts and activities that can be included.
Both sheets have been made with children of primary school age in mind. The difficulty of the questions can be altered to suit the class. There is a choice of two different sheets. ‘In Our School Yard’ can be used for schools that have limited green space, while ‘In Our School Garden’ has more items that could be found in your school’s green areas.

National Biodiversity Week is organised by the Irish Environmental Network (IEN), with thanks to funding from the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). Events are run by IEN member groups, as well as by Biodiversity Officers and other local groups.
