Join Vincent Wildlife Trust and the Abbeyleix Bog Project for a free information event all about the pine marten. The pine marten is a medium-sized woodland mammal, about the size of a domestic cat, with a slender and elongated body, and a long bushy tail. Its fur is chestnut to dark brown in colour, with a distinctive creamy-yellow bib on its throat that extends to the chest. The pine marten is currently found throughout the island of Ireland but almost became extinct during the 20th century.

This event will take place in the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel County Laois (https://bit.ly/3TZ6sbI) beginning at 3pm with an indoor PowerPoint presentation followed by a fieldtrip in the woodland adjacent to the hotel to look for signs of the pine marten.

Teas/coffee will be provided before the fieldtrip, which will be about 90 minutes in duration. Normal waterproof clothing and footwear is advisable. Children are welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult!

Places are limited so please email enquiries@vincentwildlife.ie to register. More information will be provided on our website www.vincentwildlife.ie closer to the event.
