Biodiversity Week 2026 | Barn Owl Box Making

Join the Men’s Shed and LOETB in Mountmellick for a workshop in constructing barn owl boxes.
The number of Barn owls has increased in Laois. A successful Laois Barn Owl Project was implemented last year. An array of barn owl boxes were installed at rural locations across south Laois, complemented by surveying and nest occupancy assessments.
The Mountmellick Men’s Shed with Jack from the LOETB will construct 10 barn owl boxes as part of training and awareness of these charismatic birds.
