Launch of The Thomastown Biodiversity Action Plan

Join the Thomastown Community as they launch their local Biodiversity Action Plan, a plan under development for the past 12 months under the leadership of the Thomastown Community Network in association with Kilkenny County Council.
The launch will feature a diverse and engaging programme of speakers:
- Noel Higgins of Ériu Farm will open the evening with an introduction to biodiversity and its importance.
- Deborah D’Arcy, ecologist and author of the plan, will present key findings from her ecological study of Thomastown.
- Mick Wright of BirdWatch Ireland will speak about bird species along the River Nore.
- Thomastown Venture Scouts will share their role in delivering actions from the plan.
- Dr. Bastian Egeter of NatureMetrics will conclude with a presentation on tools and methods for measuring biodiversity progress.
☕ Following the presentations, attendees are invited to stay for refreshments, explore local artwork, and learn more about a range of exciting biodiversity projects proposed for Thomastown.
