🌿 Native Woodland Wander

Guided Biodiversity Walk at Gracedieu Wood

Join the Native Woodland Trust this National Biodiversity Week 2026 for a guided walk through the evolving habitats of Gracedieu Native Woodland Reserve, accessible along the Waterford Greenway.

This relaxed, family‑friendly walk begins at Bilberry Carpark and follows the Greenway towards Gracedieu Wood. Along the way, we’ll pause to take in the sights, sounds and smells of nature — from wildflowers and the insects that visit them, to shrubs, young native trees and towering veteran trees that form the scaffolding of Ireland’s woodland ecosystems.

Led by Jeremy Casey, this walk offers a chance to explore a native woodland reserve that is still being planted and shaped, highlighting how woodlands grow, develop and support biodiversity over time.

Once at the reserve, we’ll stop to enjoy a picnic lunch with tea and coffee, before making our way back to Bilberry Carpark.
