Forest school: Forest school inspired nature based activities for children

May 24 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Aisling and Karen will guide an exploration of the nature and wildlife surrounding Cuan Beo paying attention to the growth and new beginnings at this particular time of year. We will then craft with some of the items that we have found or been inspired by on our journey. Participants will be invited to consider ways we can respectfully co-exist with the plants and wildlife we come across. Children must be accompanied by an adult; aimed at children from 5 -10 years old but siblings are welcome.

Aisling Finucane and Karen Sugrue are both qualified Forest School Leaders. Karen is a primary school teacher with over 20 years experience. Working at Forest School Cloughjordan she is passionate about helping children connect with nature through hands-on, outdoor learning while fostering curiosity and respect for biodiversity. Aisling co-established and ran forest school at the Irish Seedsavers Association and has a strong belief in fostering the stewardship of nature using child led approaches and the passing on of traditional skills.
