Join Proinsias Mac an Bheatha, author of Wildlife of the Bull Island, for a guided walk exploring the rich natural heritage of North Bull Island Nature Reserves. This two‑hour walk offers a blend of ecology, history, and wildlife observation in one of Ireland’s most remarkable and unique coastal habitats.

As we walk through the dunes and grasslands, Proinsias will share the story of how the island formed and developed over time, and how its landscape supports such a rich variety of diverse and rare species today. We will examine the flora along our route, including several orchid species expected to be in bloom, and observe the many insects that make the island their home. Birdlife will also feature prominently and we’ll look and listen for the species present at this time of year while noting the winter visitors that have recently departed.
