Discover the Buzz

May 20 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Celebrate National Biodiversity Week 2026 by joining Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology Park for a special community citizen science event dedicated to exploring Ireland’s native wildflowers and the bees that depend on them!

Discover the Buzz with Alan Balfe, our Senior Ecologist at Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology Park

Take a closer look at the incredible world of bees, learn how to identify native wildflowers, and uncover the many species of bumblebees found in Ireland. We’ll be surveying the area, recording bee sightings, and submitting our data to the National Biodiversity Data Centre, playing a part in protecting these essential pollinators.

📅 Survey Date: Wednesday, 20th May 2026
⏰ Time: 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or just curious about what’s buzzing in your garden, this hands-on event is a great way to get involved in Ireland’s biodiversity efforts. This event is open to adults and children alike, with all children required to be accompanied by a supervising adult.
