Cloughjordan Cine Club will host Listen to the Land Speak – a stunning watch, full of dramatic, star-soaked cinematography. Ireland has rarely looked so beautiful. Filmed over four seasons, it concludes with a raucous Samhain parade in Clonakilty, Co Cork, a time to celebrate the wildness in us, as winter creeps in.
In this documentary, Manchán Magan explores the connections between the physical landscape, our language & culture and Irish identity. He also reflects on his own cancer battle. Magan touches on the beauty of life and death in our world, and even though darkness is looming, there’s always a glimmer of hope ahead. At some point, the days will get longer, and the grass will grow again.
