Limerick Biodiversity Week Cycle

Join the Limerick Cycling Campaign and our invited guest, the Limerick City and County Council’s Biodiversity Officer, for a special guided tour.

This relaxed, family-friendly cycle offers a great opportunity to enjoy nature, learn about local wildlife, and explore some of Limerick’s key cycle routes. We will stop at a number of locations along the way to discover and talk about the nature and wildlife around us.

Event Logistics

Date: Saturday, 23rd May

Meeting Point: O’Brien Park Gazebo

Departure Time: 11:00 AM

Finish Point: Castletroy Neighbourhood Park

Estimated Finish: 1:00 PM

Route Details

The route is approximately 8km long and is designed for all ages and abilities. We will follow the shared walkway and cycleway along the River Shannon from O’Brien Park to the University of Limerick. From there, we will cycle through the UL campus and continue along dedicated cycleways to the Castletroy Greenway.

Participant Information

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. All participants are advised to:

  • Ensure their bicycle is in good working order before arrival.
  • Wear suitable clothing, and sun protection appropriate for the weather.
  • Take responsibility for their own safety.
