As part of Biodiversity Week GEAI is hosting an interactive exhibition featuring the different initiatives taking place currently to ensure our sustainable and resilient future.

What to expect:

• The national WaterLands project, working to rewet and revitalise our local bogs on Slievenakilla

• The ACRES scheme, supporting farmers to conserve local biodiversity

• Demonstration of how the Community Hall will act as an eco-friendly Emergency Hub, for use by everyone at times of extreme weather events

• Demonstrations for children of the impacts of climate change on local plants and animals and how bogs work to store carbon 

• Local projects aimed at improving our village, reducing waste, increasing recycling and up-cycling 

All projects aim to help build a more sustainable and resilient Leitrim! 

This event is FREE and open to everyone.
