Where Bog and Woodland Meet Guided Walk

Join the Irish Peatland Conservation Council and the Native Woodland Trust on a Biodiversity Walk around the beautiful Girley Bog
Join us as we celebrate National Biodiversity Week in visiting Girley Wood reserve and surrounding Girley Bog. We’re collaborating with the wonderful people at Irish Peatland Conservation Council for this event which promises to be fun and filled with information about peatlands and native woodlands.
We will be meeting at Girley Hall in Fordstown at 7 pm on Wednesday the 20th of May 2026. From there we will go for a nice walk past the Native Woodland Trust Girley Wood and around the boardwalk that goes through Girley Bog. This will be a great opportunity to get out on a Wednesday evening and to learn more about bog habitats and the various plants and animals that call this precious conservation area home.
