Walk in the Woods – Family Day Out | Forestry Walks, Talks & Activities

Join us for A Walk in the Woods – Family Forestry Day Out, a relaxed and engaging day in the outdoors for all ages.
This FREE event offers a unique opportunity to explore the benefits of forestry, biodiversity, and woodland management through a series of guided walks, talks, and interactive sessions in a beautiful woodland setting.
Open to all, this event is designed to inform, inspire, and highlight the recreational and wellness benefits of forestry, while connecting people with its wider value in Ireland today.
🎟️ Booking Information
Each session must be booked individually.
You can choose to attend one or multiple sessions throughout the day, but you will need to select a ticket for each session you wish to attend.
⚠️ Important: Some sessions may run at the same time, so please ensure the sessions you select do not overlap.
Places are limited for each session, so early booking is recommended.
🌳 What to Expect
Throughout the day, attendees can take part in a range of sessions -including:
- Forest Bathing – A guided, mindful walk designed to help you slow down, relax, and reconnect with nature
Led by Cat at Beneath the Canopy - Biodiversity Walks – Learn about woodland habitats, wildlife, and the importance of biodiversity
Led by Clare Hamilton - Meet the Forest Owner – Hear the story of the woodland — from its origins to how it is managed today
Led by James Deegan & Son - Forest School Sessions – Interactive, nature-based learning experiences suitable for all ages
Led by Laois Forest School - Why Plant Trees & The Benefits of Forestry– Gain insights into the environmental and economic benefits of forestry
Led by Liam Kelly (Teagasc Forest Advisor)
