Discover the biodiversity cycle of building a Boyne Currach

Claidhbh Ó Gibne, author of book, The Boyne Currach from beneath the shadows of Newgrange, will talk about building a Boyne Currach from start to finish – from bush to boat and from cow to craft. Claidhbh’s talk will focus on the ecological ‘footprint’ of a currach’s construction, explaining how a currach evolves naturally out of the Boyne landscape and how wildlife is an integral part of its evolution and a unique example of symbiosis. The talk will be bilingual and will take place in Dowth National Park.
