‘Estuaries Uncovered’ Ballydehob Estuary Guided Walk

Join StreamScapes for a guided estuary walk exploring the dynamic and often overlooked world of estuaries, where rivers meet the sea. You will uncover how these unique environments support biodiversity, protect coastlines, and sustain local communities. The session will begin with meeting at the Bank House in Ballydehob, followed by a walk along Ballydehob Estuary to the 12 Arch Bridge, where you will examine the physical and ecological processes that shape estuaries. Along the way, we will explore the species that depend on these habitats and the growing pressures they face. There will be discussions on estuary conservation, restoration, and how to interact sustainably with these vital ecosystems.
The event is family friendly and children must be accompanied by an adult. We recommend dressing appropriately for this outdoor activity.
StreamScapes is a registered charity, empowering schools and communities across Ireland to explore, understand, and protect their local waterways and biodiversity.
