SUMMARY:Launch of The Thomastown Biodiversity Action Plan
DESCRIPTION:Join the Thomastown Community as they launch their local Biodiversity Action Plan\, a plan under development for the past 12 months under the leadership of the Thomastown Community Network in association with Kilkenny County Council. \nThe launch will feature a diverse and engaging programme of speakers: \n\nNoel Higgins of Ériu Farm will open the evening with an introduction to biodiversity and its importance.\nDeborah D’Arcy\, ecologist and author of the plan\, will present key findings from her ecological study of Thomastown.\nMick Wright of BirdWatch Ireland will speak about bird species along the River Nore.\nThomastown Venture Scouts will share their role in delivering actions from the plan.\nDr. Bastian Egeter of NatureMetrics will conclude with a presentation on tools and methods for measuring biodiversity progress.\n\n☕ Following the presentations\, attendees are invited to stay for refreshments\, explore local artwork\, and learn more about a range of exciting biodiversity projects proposed for Thomastown. \n🌿 This launch marks an important step in building a more sustainable\, nature-friendly future for the community.
