DESCRIPTION:Crann Trees for Ireland Director Diarmuid McAree is delighted to lead a guided walk at Declan & Yvonne Foley’s wonderful Longford Demesne Woodland\, winner of the 2010 RDS Forest Service Bio Diverse Forestry Woodland Award\, highlighting Irish Biodiversity during National Biodiversity Week 2026.\nThe event includes a presentation of the Native Woodland Conservation Scheme\, Native Woodland Establishment Scheme and Native Forest for Water (FT2) Scheme.\nOther topics include:\nHNV Farming (NPWS) Wild Bird Cover\, Pollinator Strips\, Bee Boxes\, Species Rich Native Hedgerows\, and Wild Flower Meadow.\nPlease note that NO dogs are permitted on site in order to protect badger setts and undergrowth\, providing shelter for a variety of wildlife.\nPlease wear appropriate footwear and weather appropriate clothing.\nCome join us and enjoy nature at its best! \nNational Biodiversity Week is organised by the Irish Environmental Network (IEN)\, with thanks to funding from the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). \nPLACES LIMITED – BOOKING ESSENTIAL – CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDENCE VIA EVENTBRITE LINK
