DESCRIPTION:Join us in person to explore cool citizen science projects and resources during National Biodiversity Week! \n\n\n\n\nCitizen Science – Opportunities & Resources\nJoin us at Áislann Chill Chartha for an immersive day celebrating the natural wonders of Southwest Donegal! As part of National Biodiversity Week\, this free workshop is designed for anyone curious about the wildlife in our backyards\, mountains\, and seas. \nDiscover how you can contribute to real scientific research\, learn about amazing tools and resources\, and connect with fellow nature lovers. \nWhether you’re a pro or just curious\, this event is all about making a difference together. Don’t miss out on this chance to explore new opportunities and have fun while helping our planet! \n\n\nThe Schedule: \n11:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Interactive Workshop (Indoor):\nWe will explore some of the best resources available to get involved with citizen science. \nWe will look at tools and apps (such as the National Biodiversity Data Centre portal) used to track Irish species. \nLearn how to identify local birds\, insects\, and plants\, and see how your sightings help protect Ireland’s nature. \n1:00 PM – 3:00 PM | Field Visit (Outdoor):\nPut your new skills into practice! We will head out for a guided walk to nearby habitats to observe and record local wildlife in action. \n\n\n\n\nImportant Information: \nCost: Free\, but registration is essential as places are strictly limited to 20 participants. \nAge Requirement: This event is designed for adults and young people aged 16 years and older; participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. \nWhat to Bring: Please wear sturdy walking shoes/boots and bring waterproof clothing.
