Bring the family along and join a short activity to learn more about Irish biodiversity.\nNo booking required but there may be a short waiting time. Suitable for Families. Wheelchair accessible. Children must be fully supervised by a parent or adult who is in loco parentis. \nDuring the drop-in event you can… \n\nLearn about some animals you might see on your doorstep today or in the past…\nTouch and inspect up close the handling collections of real and replica furs\, footprints and even some poo!\n\n\nHave a chat with a Museum Educator and don’t forget to ask them your curious questions.\n\n\nChoose your favourite animal on display in a short self-guided creative activity sheet.\n\nWhat is a drop-in event at the Dead Zoo Lab?\nDrop-in events are located in the Discovery Zone in the open gallery of the Dead Zoo Lab. Each drop-in takes place over two hours and features a short activity that last 5-10 mins with a Museum Educator. Each activity is inspired by the natural history collections in the Museum. The short activity usually involves seeing and touching real and replica handling objects such as furs\, feathers\, footprints and eggs. At the end of the activity you can pick up a self-guided activity sheet and pencil to choose and draw your favourite animal on display in the Dead Zoo Lab. \n\nDates and Times\nSunday 24th May\, 2pm – 4pm – Furs\, footprints and… poo!

DESCRIPTION:As part of the Kenmare Celebration of Our Bay festival the Irish Wildlife Trust is delighted to be hosting a screening of their documentary film Trawling for Answers. This film  explores issues around bottom trawling and marine protection in Ireland. Grace Carr\, IWT Marine Advocacy Officer\, speaks with  fish producer organisations\, environmental researchers\, ex commercial bottom trawlers\, conservationists and more in a trip around Ireland seeking to find out how well our waters are protected and what else needs to be done.  \nThe event will consist of the film screening followed by a Q&A at the Carnegie Arts Centre\, after which we will head over to the Lansdowne Arms Hotel for an informal discussion of the film’s themes.
