SUMMARY:Biodiversity Week 2026 | Moth Trapping and Release
DESCRIPTION:Discover the hidden world of our night-time pollinators at this early‑morning moth trapping and release event. \nDavid in Ballykilcavan is part of a licensed catch and release moth monitoring program. Attendees can join to see what species have been recorded during the previous night. Learn how moths are identified\, and watch them safely released back into their habitats. This hands‑on session offers a fascinating insight into moth diversity and their vital role in healthy ecosystems. \nMoths play a crucial role in biodiversity\, acting as pollinators for night‑flowering plants and forming a vital food source for birds\, bats\, and other wildlife\, making them key indicators of a healthy ecosystem.
