SUMMARY:Beautiful Butterflies of Lullymore West
DESCRIPTION:Join the IPCC for a free butterfly walk on Lullymore West Nature Reserve. Lullymore West Nature Reserve is an example of a cutaway bog that has regenerated into a refuge for biodiversity\, especially butterflies. 21 different species of butterfly are found on Lullymore West Bog\, out of a total Irish species list of 31 including the protected species the Marsh Fritillary butterfly. Meet at the Bog of Allen Nature Centre at 11am and join IPCC staff for a walk to Lullymore West where we will share information of the reserve and the butterflies who live there. You will also get to give butterfly identification a go with IPCCs Bonding with Butterflies identification leaflet. Please wear clothes appropriate for the outdoors. Light refreshments will be available following the walk and talk. No booking required.

SUMMARY:Skerries Bee Walk and Talk
DESCRIPTION:Join Charles and Marion Heasman of Sustainable Skerries on a neighbourhood walk to explore the fascinating world of bees in Skerries. \n  \n\n\n\n\nCharles and Marion Heasman\, members of the Sustainable Skerries group\, will lead the walk through some public green spaces where seasonal wildflower meadows grow and bees tend to gather in the spring. Come along to learn about the world of Irish bees\, hopefully including some less common species- you may even realise that you have seen them before without knowing. \n  \nThe walk will be slow-paced and the full route should take about an hour and a half\, although there is no obligation to stay for the entire event. Wear suitable shoes for the walk\, bring water and make sure to dress properly for the weather. Families with children are welcome\, but please leave dogs and buggies/prams at home. The wildflower site is unfortunately not accessible for people with limited mobility\, as access requires crossing a steep area with loose ground. \n  \nThe meeting point is by the bus stop on Barnageeragh Road\, right next to the pedestrian bridge to the DART station. Because this is a fully outdoors event\, the walk is subject to weather conditions and may have to be postponed or cancelled if the forecast is poor. We will notify attendees if plans change\, so please register online here and keep an eye on your email inboxes in the days leading up to the walk. Registration will help us know how many people to expect\, and to keep everyone informed ahead of the event.
