DESCRIPTION:Join the CARE Project and Mulranny Tidy Towns for a walk along the new butterfly monitoring trail. The 1.7km walk commences at the Butterfly Garden across from Mulranny National School and continues along hedgerows\, woodland and the Greenway before finishing up in the village. We will focus on capturing information for the National Biodiversity Data Centre butterfly monitoring scheme and chat through some of the native (and invasive) vegetation that impact butterfly populations locally. \nPlease wear appropriate clothing for the weather and note that this walk includes some slopes\, steps and uneven ground. DESCRIPTION:Ballymote Tidy Towns invite you to dive into the world of water bugs with scientists from the Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO). Beginning in Margaret Gormley Memorial Park\, a sample of water bugs and insects from the stream will be used to determine the health of the water. We will then take a walk through the park to the castle to look at other wild and wet areas\, the biodiverse hotspots of our urban environment. \nThis is a family friendly event but all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.\nPlease dress appropriately for the weather.
