Planting for Pollinators – focus on the Cooley Penninsula. In a third year of tree planting, tree talks and awareness of the contribution of trees to Biodiversity, the work of tree planters will be marked by Greenore Tidy Towns Committee Members to celebrate the great work of local communities who have carried out distanced tree planting of native saplings and during planting season on the Cooley Penninsula with community groups and schools. The Zoom gathering will take place online hear the fascinating story of Crann Chairman and Beekeeper, Mark Wilkinson on his work planting pollinating trees and wildflowers. The chat will be moderated by Easy Treesie project leader Orla Farrell. Hosted from the shores of Carlingford Lough we will reference work carried out in Donegal and Derry and will discuss our plans for the upcoming season for planting 250,000 saplings. We are very grateful for the support of the Irish Environmental Network in the running of this event.
