Guided Bee and Wasp walk led by Brian Murray from Bees and Wasps of Ireland, on the grounds of Russborough House in Russelstown, Co. Wicklow.

Did you know that there are 101 bee species in Ireland? How many could you recognise?

Brian Murray from Bees & Wasps of Ireland will be bringing us on a bee walk on the grounds of Russborough House in Co. Wicklow.

We will investigate bees that we encounter, and Brian will discuss some of the important identification features of these bees as well as the importance of bees in Ireland. Brian has been surveying the lands at Russborough for a year now and has discovered 29 species of bee in that time.

If you have any magnifying glasses or loupes, please bring them along with you as we may catch bees on the walk and view them in collecting pots. Also, we may visit some off-track areas so please wear suitable clothing & footwear.

Our meeting location will be at the front of the house, looking down toward the N81 road. If you plan to park at Russborough House, the carpark cost is €4 which can be paid by card on site.

For this particular outing, we will have a minimum age of 6 years old.
