Biodiversity Week 2021 is coming soon

15th-23rd May 2021

Due to COVID, Biodiversity Week 2021 will be a virtual event. We will publish details of online events to celebrate our Nature and Biodiversity and we will have a range of materials to support family-friendly activities. Our 9th annual Biodiversity Photographer of the Year runs throughout May and the centrepiece of Biodiversity week will be our Backyard Bioblitz.

Take part in our Backyard Bioblitz 21st-23rd May 2021

This weekend you can learn about the natural world while maintaining social distancing. Explore your local area and if you find something that you would like to know more about, our experts will be happy to help you identify what you found.
If you need help, all you have to do is take a photograph of your find and tag us on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #BackyardBioblitz and we will tell you what you have found.
Download an activity sheet from here.
Take care when you are exploring. Make sure that you have an adult with you and be very careful near water, and plants that have thorns or that sting.
But make sure that you have fun. Remember that our experts will be happy to help you identify anything that you find.
