The Urban Nature Explorers: Children Biodiversity Workshops are fun engaging events for children to explore our natural environment and the richness of species and habitats around us, even in an urban setting.
Children will learn about food chains and food webs, Irish ecosystems and how small daily actions can help promote and conserve our natural environment.
We will explore the different habitats in our garden by looking at species of plants, insect and other creatures populating it.
Activities will include a number of fun and educational games and a range of outdoor activities such as pond- dipping and bug hunt.
Also includes a biodiversity themed craft activity such as making a paper pot and planting some biodiversity-friendly flowers and herbs.
The centre and garden are wheelchair accessible. Each workshop is 90 minutes and suitable for children aged 6 to 12 years old. Please bring waterproof clothes/sun screen and a hat depending on the weather as we will be mostly outdoors.
