Using a participative and engaging format, Cultivate will host this evening workshop to highlight Sustainable Development Goal 15 and promote a sustainable use of our ecosystems and ways to preserve biodiversity.
The facilitated conversation and presentation will highlight the development of Sustainable Development Goal 15 over the past 25 years from its roots in the Rio Earth Summit and the Convention on Biological Diversity.
The free event, which will launch the 2018 Convergence Sustainable Living Festival, will focus on the restoration of soil and sustainable land use.
A keynote presentation will be given by Pavlos Georgiadis, a Greek ecologist, author, olive grower and social entrepreneur, on soil and citizen science to ignite a conversation on how people can play a part in reversing land degradation and halting biodiversity loss.
This will be followed by a conversation led by Devyn Olson-Sawyer of the GROW Observatory on how people can play a part in reversing land degradation and halting biodiversity loss.
This is an event held as part of Biodiversity Week and the Convergence Sustainable Living Festival – see www.cultivate.ie
